Travelling With Your Cycler

CYCLERS: WHAT YOU NEED AND WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

If your patient is travelling on APD, they might be wondering, "what do I need to bring with me for my cycler?"

The Homechoice Claria will work in any country, whatever the voltage. Patients are not required to take a power adapter.

Please note: it is the responsibility of the patient to transport the Claria to their destination as Baxter does not ship these machines.

Most airlines will put the Claria in the hold rather than allowing patients to take it in the cabin. Baxter recommend attaching the "Fragile" tag to the machine case.

HOMECHOICE

There are some considerations to be mindful of when planning to travel with a Homechoice Cycler.

  • Homechoice Claria cycler does not require a transformer and only needs a travel plug adapter for international travel
  • Patients should check with their airline for possible carry on restrictions, as these vary by airline.
  • Please see the Sample Doctor’s Letter for a sample of the letter patients can provide to the airlines.
